The Lord Mayor, Cllr Andrew Montague, yesterday launched the official Dublin At Christmas event for 2011. All events are now on a new website www.dublinatchristmas.ie<\/a> which is the ultimate online guide for Christmas in the city. This super seasonal website is Dublin\u2019s one stop shop for information on all aspects of Christmas in Dublin\u2019s fair city. The site will feature details of events for all of the family, fun for you and your friends and great special offers in shops, restaurants, bars and hotels along with essential information for shopping and going out in Dublin.<\/p>\n

Lord Mayor Andrew Montague said \u2018The message we have today is Dublin city is where Christmas is happening this year. Dublin City BID, the business community, the public transport providers and the City Council have come together to make sure that the city will be a fantastic festive experience this Christmas and New Year. There are many family focused events and traditional favourites for all ages to enjoy. There are many ways of getting to Dublin on public transport and by car. Why not avail of the 50% reduction in on street parking by using the Parking Tag? It has never been easier to shop, socialise or just enjoy Dublin\u2019s unique atmosphere at Christmas.\u2019<\/p>\n

I have also served as Chairperson of the South East Area Committee. I was elected Leader of the Labour Group in 2011. I have served as Cathaoirleach of the Dublin Regional Authority, the Southern and Eastern Regional Assembly and the Eastern and Midlands Regional Assembly. The only person to chair all three. I pioneered the 20% Social and Affordable Housing concept though the Dublin Docklands Development MasterPlan and have established a housing co-op in my own area and am a Board member of an Approved Housing Body. I was for ten years Chairperson of the South Dublin\/Wicklow Branch of the Irish Foster Care Association. Clubs and Committees Currently on Dublin City Council I Chair the South East Area Committee and the Housing Strategic Policy Committee. I am Board member of Donnybrook Community Employment and Sandymount Community Services, Donnybrook Community Playschool and numerous other local, community and Dublin wide organisations.
