{"id":400,"date":"2010-03-11T22:18:32","date_gmt":"2010-03-11T22:18:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dermotlacey.ie\/blog\/?p=400"},"modified":"2010-03-11T22:40:05","modified_gmt":"2010-03-11T22:40:05","slug":"400","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/dermotlacey.ie\/blog\/2010\/03\/400\/","title":{"rendered":"Draft City Development Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The closing date for submissions from members of the public on the Draft <a title=\"Dublin City Development Plan\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dublincity.ie\/Planning\/DublinCityDevelopmentPlan\/pages\/citydevelopmentplan.aspx\">Dublin City Development Plan 2011-2017<\/a> is tomorrow, Friday 12th March.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining stages in the process are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Manager\u2019s Report on submissions received is circulated to City Council by 24th May 2010<\/li>\n<li>Consideration of the Report by the Members to be complete by 16th August 2010<\/li>\n<li>The Members have the period between 24th May and 16th August to consider the Manager\u2019s Report, the issues raised in public submissions and the Manager\u2019s Recommendations. The process for this is the same as for the preparation of the Draft Plan \u2013 i.e. Members submit Motions on the Manager\u2019s Report and a series of Statutory City Council meetings will be held to consider the Manager\u2019s Report and Councillors Motions<\/li>\n<li>After the 16th August, the Material Amendments arising from the Councillors consideration are made and prepared for public display<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Second Public Display \u2013 Material Amendments will run from 6th September to 4th October, 2010<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Manager prepares a report on submissions received and circulates this to Members by 1st November, 2010<\/li>\n<li>The Members must consider the report and decide on the material amendments by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">13th December, 2010<\/span> at which time they make the Plan<\/li>\n<li>The Plan becomes effective from the 10th January 2011<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have any comments to make on the draft development plan, you can do so through the link above before 12th March, or alternatively <a title=\"Contact Me\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dermotlacey.ie\/blog\/contact-me\/\">get in touch with me<\/a> and let me know your thoughts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The closing date for submissions from members of the public on the Draft Dublin City Development Plan 2011-2017 is tomorrow, Friday 12th March. My background Growing up in Donnybrook, where I still live, I was always in involved in community life particularly through my membership of Donnybrook Scout Group. I was co-opted to Dublin City Council in 1993 to fill the vacancy caused by the appointment of Ruairi Quinn as Minister for Enterprise and Employment. Since then I have been re-elected at each local elections in 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019 in varying parts of Dublin Bay South as the electoral areas changed. On the Council I have served as Chairperson of the Employment Committee, Finance Committee, Arts and Sports Committee, Housing Committee, Protocol Committee and the Council itself as Lord Mayor of Dublin. I have also served as Chairperson of the South East Area Committee. I was elected Leader of the Labour Group in 2011. I have served as Cathaoirleach of the Dublin Regional Authority, the Southern and Eastern Regional Assembly and the Eastern and Midlands Regional Assembly. The only person to chair all three. I pioneered the 20% Social and Affordable Housing concept though the Dublin Docklands Development MasterPlan and have established a housing co-op in my own area and am a Board member of an Approved Housing Body. I was for ten years Chairperson of the South Dublin\/Wicklow Branch of the Irish Foster Care Association. Clubs and Committees Currently on Dublin City Council I Chair the South East Area Committee and the Housing Strategic Policy Committee. I am Board member of Donnybrook Community Employment and Sandymount Community Services, Donnybrook Community Playschool and numerous other local, community and Dublin wide organisations. I am member of the Board of Scouting Ireland, the City of Dublin Education and Training Board and the Royal Hospital Donnybrook Board.
